The Road Safety Group have developed a package of road safety information for young people aged 16-22 years.
The pack includes an informative postcard sized booklet for young people including advice on learning to drive, issues such as speed, drink driving, mobile phones, seatbelts and peer pressure.
The package comprises of a folder containing a student booklet, tutor notes, and two posters to be utilised in colleges and other outlets stating the message: ‘You have a 1 in 5 chance of having a crash within the first year of driving.’
Two copies of the ‘What if?’ video and booklet, one for drivers and the other for riders, will also be included in the package. The video gives advice to novice drivers and riders on important issues such as hazard perception, encouraging them to constantly anticipate the actions of others when driving.

The package has initially been utilised in colleges throughout the County that have received the Group’s Theatre in Education ‘Legal Weapon’ performance and initial feedback has been very positive.
