Requests for Information

We aim to be as cooperative and helpful as possible when dealing with requests for ecological data. We do reserve the right to make a charge for our services, particularly when commercial use is being made of the information we provide. Any charge will be made in accordance with our scale of charges.

Information is held on a range of topics including: Biological and Geological Heritage Sites and the habitats and species they support, locations of protected species, such as the great crested newt, pond surveys, Phase 1 Habitat Surveys and BAP habitats and species.

The data are held in a variety of forms including paper and map-based and electronically in the Recorder database and ArcView geographical information system.

We are also aware of other organizations and individuals in the County who hold data and who can assist with inquiries.

There may be specific occasions when we must not provide information requested. Such instances are rare and will be explained should they occur.
