Intergrated Access Demonstration Programme in Lancashire

The Lancashire Integrated Access Demonstration Programme has involved a team from Lancashire Countryside service in a range of work leading to:

  • The publication of the Country's first Draft Rights of Way Improvement Plan
  • The development of a practical guide to management planning for open access
  • The completion of demand studies to find out how people use the countryside and what their aspirations are
  • A countywide access audit to find out about all the recreational opportunities in the County that add value to the PROW network

As well as providing practical advice about improving public enjoyment of the Countryside the description of the processes we went through will help others to plan and carry out their own work.
