Now offering a flexible, door to door service (from 5/7/04). The Ribble Valley Rider is the flexible bus service that gives access to and from some of the more remote villages in the Ribble Valley. The Ribble Valley Rider now runs without a fixed route and timetable which means it has the flexibility, within a designated area, to offer a door to door service.
The Ribble Valley Rider can be booked to serve Clitheroe Interchange for bus and rail connections and will serve local destinations by prior arrangement e.g. Clitheroe Hospital, Medical Centre, Booths Supermarket, the Grand Cinema and many more!
Anyone can become a member and use the Ribble Valley Rider whether you are residents or visitors. The low floor bus we use is easily accessible and most wheelchair users, people with children in push chairs or with heavy shopping will also be able to travel with us.
Due to the licensing restrictions all passengers must become a member of Ribble Valley Community Transport. Membership is free and easy to arrange.
The bus also has a cycle rack with capacity for two bikes but please book in advance to reserve a space. To book the Ribble Valley Rider call (01200) 444484. The office is open on Monday to Friday between 0900 and 1300 hours. Please give 24 hours notice if possible. Outside office hours an answer service is available or alternatively please contact Clitheroe Interchange on (01200) 429832.
Fares charged on the Ribble Valley Rider are similar to other regular bus services and Lancashire County Council Concessionary passes are valid. The Ribble Valley Day Ranger ticket is also valid on this service.
The Ribble Valley Rider bus is available for group hire when it is not required for its scheduled or pre-booked journeys.
