Tower Wood is in the heart of the Lake District but being on the eastern shores of Lake Windermere has easy access to the M6 Motorway only 30 minutes away. The centre is 3 miles south of Bowness just off the A592.
The Centre is situated in its own beautiful grounds leading down through lawns and rhododendron woodland to the lake. Situated in 10 acres of lawns and woodlands the site is bounded by a mountain stream, woodland and an open meadow, our access road and Lake Windermere itself.
From Junction 36 on the M6, follow the signs towards Barrow-in-Furness
At the roundabout at Newby Bridge take the 2nd exit on the right towards Bowness and Windermere
Tower Wood is approximately 4 miles from the roundabout. Along the route you will pass Fell Foot National Trust Park on the left
Nearing the Centre you should look out for a red triangular road sign with the words 'Outdoor Education Centre'.
The road then dips down and the entrance to Tower Wood is in the bottom of the dip on the left, just before the public telephone and post box in the lay-by. Map of the site
