Situated in 11 acres of lawns and woodlands, the site is bounded by a mountain stream, woodland, an open meadow, and Windermere itself
The Grounds

Waterfront with shingle beach, slipway and two private jetties to facilitate easy access to the centre’s fleet of vessels. Hoists are available to assist disabled access.
- Several large lawns providing the setting for a variety of team-building challenges (e.g. Low Ropes Course, Team Wall, Three Towers, Spiders Web, Ball Maze).
- Areas of bluebell woodland ideally suited to environmental studies and general exploration.
- A meadow suitable for environmental activities and orienteering.
- Vertical challenge activities including 50 ft tree abseil, Sky Pole and Trapeze Leap, and tree climbing in high oaks.
- Hard surfaced paths enabling access for wheelchairs.
- A stream and pond suitable for environmental discovery sessions.
The Boathouse with private lake access
- Four changing rooms which can accommodate 80 people
- Toilet / shower facilities including separate disabled provision

- Studio viewing room with balcony and panoramic views of Lake Windermere.
- Workshop and sail lofts
The Old Stables
The original stables now serves as our equipment store for land based clothing and equipment. We can provide all the necessary technical clothing and equipment to ensure that you enjoy the Lake District- whatever the weather!
The Windermere Suite
Our new Finnish Log Cabin is now complete and ideally situated within our grounds. It can comfortably accommodate up to 50 people and can be used for meetings, INSET training and team building.
