About Us

Students

Lancashire Adult Learning is the County Council's Adult Education Service. Right across the county (with the exception of Blackburn with Darwen and Blackpool), we offer a wide range of non-vocational classes – usually short courses of up to 10 weeks, in community venues.

We are committed to providing high quality learning opportunities that meet the needs of individuals and communities from across the area we serve. Our aim is to help you to achieve your full potential through learning, to enhance your quality of life, to serve your local community, or progress in your career. We believe strongly that learning empowers individuals to take more control of their lives, and that learning helps to build confident and cohesive communities.

Our service runs courses in hundreds of community venues, such as libraries, community centres, churches and village halls. Our learners come from a wide variety of backgrounds, but we are particularly keen to encourage those who might not have participated in learning for many years. Our friendly and informal approach provides a non-threatening way for people to ease themselves back into learning.

For more information about what courses we offer and how to find out more look on our courses page.
