Statutory notices for BSF in Burnley and Pendle were published on 12th November 2004 after which there followed a six week period for representations to be submitted.

A series of conferences have been held in Burnley and Pendle. Most recently at:

• The Fence Gate Inn on 12th October 2004
• Burnley Football Club on 19th October 2004

Approximately 270 people attended these events

In June 2004 approximately 160 people visited the mobile information unit during visits to Burnley, Padiham, Nelson and Brierfield

Throughout May and June 2004 about 200 people attended open evenings held at schools throughout Burnley and Pendle

• 100 people attended community meetings.
• A Series of meetings were held for young people in the area.
• 44000 consultation documents were issued in Burnley and Pendle which outlined the proposals – almost 400 reply sheets were received from this consultation process.
