Resilient route network

The Resilient Route Network was approved by Cabinet on 7th December 2017

The maps show the individual resilient route network for each district in Lancashire (not including unitary authorities).

The Resilient route network is conceptualised as the minimum road network the county council will strive to be keep continuously open, as far as is practicably possible, in severe weather to protect essential economic activity and provide access to key services.  It ensures continuity of travel across neighbouring local authority boundaries by providing access to the strategic road network.

This work to redefine the Resilient Route Network is in line with DfT requirements, will not affect county's current priority gritting routes.
