Former Glenburn Sports College Yewdale Skelmersdale – Disposal of Land and Buildings involving the Secretary of State.
Academies Act 2010 Schedule 1 and School Standards and Framework Act 1988
Following the closure of Glenburn Sports College in 2016 notice is given by Lancashire County Council, PO Box 100, County Hall, Preston, PR1 0LD that it intends to make an application to The Secretary of State for the disposal and change of use of land classification which includes the former playing field land of the former Glenburn Sports College, Yewdale, Skelmersdale, WN8 6JB. Lancashire County Council intends to dispose of its freehold interest in the land and are required to obtain formal consent via the Department for Education (DfE).

The formal phase of consultation will take place between Thursday 22nd December 2022 and Thursday 16th February 2023.
Any objections or representations regarding the proposed disposal must be made in writing to The Head of Estates at Lancashire County Council, PO BOX 100, County Hall, Preston PR1 0LD or emailed to estates.admin@lancashire.gov.uk and to be received no later than 5pm on 16th February 2023. The grounds for any objection should be stated.
