Whether it's fake lottery and prize draw wins, bogus psychic predictions, get-rich-quick investment cons, 'miracle' health cures, or dodgy used cars, nearly half of the UK's population has been targeted by a scam, losing a total of £3.5 billion every year.

Scams and cons cost Lancashire residents about £60 million every year and around a third of victims will fall prey to another scam within 12 months.

Our Trading Standards Service is here to protect the interests of our consumers and businesses. We can provide advice before you shop - for example, if you are considering buying a second-hand car, using the services of a builder or booking a holiday. And we can provide advice if you are having problems with something you have already bought or a service you have received.
