The Lancashire Trees and Woodlands Grant has unfortunately been discontinued as a distinct programme due to a lack of funding. However, the Environment and Community Projects Team are still able to offer advice to groups and organisations who are interested in developing small scale tree planting projects. Where there is a potentially significant public benefit, landscape improvement or biodiversity advantage to a project, we may be able to offer financial support, either directly through Lancashire County Council funding or by supporting applications for external grants. If you would like the Environment and Community Projects Team's advice and support for your project, please complete the initial proposal form and return this to us by email or post.
The aim is to encourage and assist landowners and community organisations implement small scale tree planting projects to increase Lancashire’s tree and woodland cover. In addition to the visual improvements trees will make, the trees will capture carbon dioxide to help reduce the effects of the emissions from the treatment of our domestic waste. We have a priority to plant trees as part of woodlands that will grow on to maturity. Lancashire Trees and Woodlands Grant is about small scale community projects, if you would like information about the larger county wide Woodlands from Waste programme, visit the Woodlands from Waste Website.
Our top priority is to assist with the planting of new small woodlands. There are however opportunities for grants to be made for other forms of planting, but this may not cover all the costs. For more information, see the specification sheets below :
