Lancashire's BSF programme has been successful in two categories of the National Excellence in BSF Awards. Local authorities across England were eligible for the awards which celebrate achievement across all areas of the national programme. Burnley Campus won the Community Hub award and Pendle Vale Campus the Education for All Award. For more details see the Partnerships for Schools press release or article in the Lancashire Telegraph.
Under this new Capital Initiative, the Government is seeking to support a transformation of secondary education and ensure that all secondary age children and young people have access to facilities of 21st Century standard. The intention is to renew and/or replace all secondary schools over a 10 to 15 year period beginning in 2005/2006.
Lancashire was one of the first Local Authorities to be included in the BSF programme and our Phases 1 , 2 & 3 cover schools in Burnley and part of Pendle . Several new buildings have already opened. See below for links to images
We have recently bid for more funding to transform schools in the rest of Pendle plus Hyndburn and Rossendale and have already held some preliminary consultation events.
