Quality Bus

Quality Bus is the name given to a package of measures aimed at improving journeys by bus. In partnership with local councils, bus operators and the police, Lancashire County Council are developing Quality Bus routes across the county.

Quality bus routes typically incorporate some or all of the following features:

 High Quality Buses that are:

  • Frequent
  • Reliable
  • Low Floor and Easy Access, with the facility to kneel at stops to help everyone board more easily and a designated wheelchair/pushchair space on board.

 High Quality Waiting Environments with:

  • New Bus Stops that are clearly visible with raised boarding areas to allow level access
  • New Bus Shelters with integral seating & lighting for added comfort
  • Named Bus Stops
  • Better Timetable Information at all stops

Bus Priority Measures with:

  • Priority at Traffic Signals
