Lancashire County Council is committed to encouraging safer streets in Lancashire by introducing 20mph speed limits in residential areas and outside schools by the end of 2013.  20mph speed limit schemes are being introduced across the County in 4 phases. Phases 1 and 2 are substantially complete with Phase 3 progressing through consultation and construction. Consultation has commenced for Phase 4. The schemes planned for Hyndburn can be found below

Please see the map below for a rough guide of the areas which are included in each phase, the map is used to give a general outline of the areas included in each phase and is still subject to detailed design. 

Once the statutory consultation process is open, the public notice, detailed plan and draft order will be available clearly stating which roads are included in the scheme.

Advisory School Programme

For schools which fall outside main residential areas it is proposed to introduce an advisory part time 20mph speed limit.  Details of the proposals for your area can be accessed below.  If you have any observations to make regarding the proposal please respond by the end of consultation date shown below. 

Please note this is not a statutory consultation process, due to the advisory nature of the proposed speed limit, but we will endeavour to take all relevant comments into consideration.
