Accommodation and Facilities

Tower Wood is set in twelve acres of lawns and woodland which extend from the beautiful Edwardian house down to the eastern shore of Lake Windermere.

Tower Wood has its own fully equipped boathouse, private jetty and lake access and can offer training in sailing, canoeing, kayaking and power-boating. In addition the centre can offer a wide range of land-based courses from rock climbing and mountaineering to caving and mountain biking, as well as a variety of on-site team-building and problem-solving activities.

Facilities for Visitors with Disabilities

We have accessible accommodation in South Lodge, which includes a bedroom hoist and shower room for wheelchair users. The Main House, Boathouse and Windermere Suite all have accessible toilet facilities.

Our jetty has a hoist to enable wheelchair users to access a variety of craft on the lake such as our motor launch 'Red Rose', the stable Drascombe Gig keelboat and our Access 303 dinghy. Team canoes and open canoe rafts can also be used with supporting seats and beanbags. Climbing and abseiling are both available on Tower Wood's site using a range of specialist equipment.

Please contact us to discuss specific needs or disabilities, and how we can help.
