Route 62

Route 62 follows the coast from Lancaster to Liverpool, before crossing the county as the Trans Pennine Trail to Yorkshire.

Liverpool - Southport

Route 62 crosses into West Lancashire south of Formby on the Cheshire Lines Railway Path. Though in Lancashire the railway is called the Cheshire Lines, as it was owned by the Cheshire Lines Railway Company. In Southport the route follows the seafront.

Preston - Blackpool

From Preston the route takes you out of the city on the canal towpath, before following minor routes to the genteel seaside resort of Lytham St Annes. It then follows the coast to Blackpool and Fleetwood.

Blackpool - Fleetwood

From Blackpool North Pier you can follow the promenade to Fleetwood, with its seafront attractions, sandy beach and views north to the Lake District.
