IMPORTANT NOTES FOR APPLICANTS FOR APPROVAL OF PREMISES
 
Attached is a copy of the application form to be used to apply for the approval of premises for the solemnization of marriages and the registration of civil partnerships.
 
When the completed form is returned, the following have to be attached to enable the application to be processed and, if you would please ensure that this is done, it will avoid any delay:-
 
1.         3 copies of a plan, either A4 or A3 size, of the whole of the premises with the room or rooms in which marriages/civil partnerships are intended to take place clearly marked.
 
2.         A copy of the Fire Risk Assessment, if any.
 
3.         Evidence that the Planning Authority have no objections to the proposed use of the premises - this can be by way of a letter from the local Council confirming that this is the case.
 
4.         A cheque made payable to "Lancashire County Council" for the appropriate fee as detailed in the Schedule of Fees set out below.
 
Application must be made in the name of the PROPRIETOR OR TRUSTEE. If the proprietor is a company, its title should be given and the address of the registered office and the application must be signed on behalf of the company by someone duly authorised.
 
In the normal course of events, and subject to there being no unforeseen difficulties, a decision on an application would normally be issued within seven weeks of a properly completed application, with requested supporting documents and remittance fee, being received at this office.
