Types of Life in Lancashire (LiL) research

All of the research done by LiL members is voluntary.

Questionnaires

LiL members are sent a postal questionnaire every few months. Each questionnaire focuses on a couple of important issues. The topics covered reflect all aspects of life in Lancashire. Members are sent a maximum of four postal questionnaires a year. They generally take no more than 15 minutes each to complete.

Soon LiL members will be able to complete questionnaires online. The questionnaires will be posted on this website at the same time as the postal questionnaires and they will cover the same things. Members will have the option to fill in either postal or online questionnaires, it's up to you. When online questionnaires are available later this year we'll let our panel know.

The research library gives you information about the topics that have been covered by our panel members over the last four and a half years.

Topics that will be covered in the next couple of pieces of research include:

  • pre-school care and
  • public perceptions of social services.

Other research

You may also be invited to take part in interviews or local informal discussion groups such as 'Cabinet Question Time' where you can put a panel of local politicians in the spotlight. For some of the research a payment will be made towards your out-of-pocket expenses. These activities are optional.
