Local Gateway Grant

Local Gateway Grants offer an opportunity for Voluntary, Community and Faith Sector organisations to apply for funding in order to help deliver activities and services that are of direct benefit to local communities.

Decisions on Local Gateway Grant applications are made by Lancashire Local committees. Lancashire Locals contain the local knowledge that will help deliver Lancashire County Council services that meet the priorities of local people.

If your activity or activities are district specific and meet the priorities identified in the Local Gateway Toolkit you should make an application using the Local Gateway application form provided.

If your activity will benefit more than one district but does NOT meet the criteria for Central Gateway Grants, then you can still apply to the Local Gateway Grants scheme. You should indicate on the application form how many districts your activity will benefit and you should be very specific about what those benefits will be, because Lancashire Local Committees will be looking for good reasons to prioritise the applications that they receive.

Once submitted, applications will be assessed by officers and a report will be sent to the next available meeting of the relevant Lancashire Local Committee or Committees, these will take place in March and April 2010. The Lancashire Local Committees are made up of both county councillors and district councillors, they will discuss the applications received and allocate the available funds. Decision letters will be sent to applicants within 28 days of the decision. The first instalment of any agreed funding will be made in July 2010 and the second in January 2011.
