We offer three different types of grant funding:
You can apply for any or all three. Applications for funding must show value for money or best value and must support activities that are clearly working towards one or more of the council's corporate objectives.
Central Gateway grants offer an opportunity for organisations to apply for strategic funding in order to help deliver Lancashire County Council's strategic priorities. This strategic funding will generally be used to fund activity or activities that cover the county, or that cover two or more districts within the county of Lancashire . We may also consider an application to be strategic if it is district based, but together with other schemes in other districts contributes to a countywide provision. For a detailed definition of strategic funding please refer to the Central Gateway toolkit or the glossary of terms.
Our strategic priorities are identified in the Central Gateway toolkit. If your activity or activities fit the priorities identified in the toolkit you should make an application for a Central Gateway Grant.
Once submitted, applications will be assessed by appropriate officers and a report will be sent to the February 2008 meeting of the Voluntary, Community and Faith Sector Cabinet Working Group. Councillors will discuss the applications received and make recommendations on which should be funded and for how much.
A further report will then be sent to the cabinet member responsible for the budget from which any funding will come and a decision letter will be sent to applicants in April 2008. The first instalment of any agreed funding will be made in July 2008 and the second in January 2009.
The Local Gateway Grants offer an opportunity for Voluntary, Community and Faith Sector organisations to apply for funding in order to help deliver local and Lancashire County Council priorities. These priorities are identified within the Local Gateway Toolkit. Local Gateway funding will generally be used to fund activity or activities that are district focused.
If your activity or activities are district specific and meet the priorities identified in the Local Gateway Toolkit you should make an application using the Local Gateway application form provided.
Once submitted, applications will be assessed by appropriate officers and a report will be sent to the meeting of the appropriate Lancashire Local Committee which will take place between February and March 2008. Councillors will discuss the applications received and decide which should be funded and for how much. Decision letters will be sent to applicants shortly after the meeting and the first instalment of any agreed funding will be made in July 2008 and the second in January 2009. In the event that a Lancashire Local does not commit their full allocation following the first funding round a second round of funding will take place.
Lancashire Locals contain the local knowledge that will help deliver Lancashire County Council services that meet the priorities of local people. It is for this reason that Local Gateway Grants have been devolved to the Lancashire Local Committees and therefore the responsibility for decision-making lies with Lancashire Locals.
Local grants offer an opportunity for organisations to apply for funding to support projects that will benefit the local community. The Lancashire County Council Local Grants Scheme enables each county councillor to put forward proposals for expenditure which will enhance the well-being of people who live in their area (division). For this financial year each county councillor has a budget of £1,250. If your local county councillor agrees to recommend your application it will be submitted to the relevant Lancashire Local Committee for a decision.
Potential applicants need to ensure the proposal meets the criteria of the scheme and discuss their proposal with their county councillor to see if they are happy to support it.
