Citizenship ceremonies

If your application for British citizenship is successful, you will be invited to attend a citizenship ceremony. You will receive an email or letter of invitation from the Home Office directing you to the Lancashire County Council website. Please email the citizenship ceremonies office to book an appointment for your ceremony.

The citizenship ceremony celebrates the significance of becoming a British citizen and welcomes you into your community.

Citizenship ceremonies are taking place at County Hall in Preston and at the Registration Office in Burnley. These are in a group setting where you will attend with other citizens and guests and a Deputy Lieutenant of Lancashire will present the certificates.

The ceremony must take place within six months of finding out that your application was successful.

If you have any questions, please email the citizenship ceremonies office.
