Information for councils

The Local Government Association has dedicated content which aims to support councils in their local delivery of the armed forces covenant. Two documents form the basis of this guidance, 'Our Community - our Covenant' and 'Meeting the Public Health needs of the armed forces.'

These documents define best practice and provide example case studies of local authorities who have engaged with the local armed forces community to develop policies and operational procedures that support forces people.

Information for residents

Most of the local authorities within Lancashire have dedicated staff and elected Counsellors who work on the armed forces agenda. Some have created specific web content for their residents from the armed forces community and we’ve added links to those that have on this page. You can also find a list of all the elected counsellors who act as armed forces champions in Lancashire, on the back page of our Covenant Newsletter which is held on our Lancashire Hub page. Please download to find their contact details and make contact if you are a member of the armed forces community and need help with an issue.
