Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) adopters

As an adoption agency we welcome applications from lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) couples and single adopters. We know that when lesbian and gay adopters want to grow their family they are more likely than heterosexual adopters to make adoption their first choice.

Anyone over 21 years of age can adopt with us, whatever your race, gender, sexuality, living arrangements, or employment status. What matters to us is that you can demonstrate that you are able to look after a child and support them through their childhood and beyond.

LGBT adopters make great parents

Children adopted by LGBT parents are just as likely to meet all their development milestones and have the same bond and parent-child special relationship as children adopted by heterosexual parents.

LGBT parents make strong role models. Children growing up with LGBT parents will most likely learn from an early age to accept people's differences and lifestyles and understand the importance of being open-minded and tolerant.

There's lots of advice and information online for LGBT adopters, the organisation New Family Social has a particularly good website.
