All sessions are currently free. Please note some sessions need to be booked. Call 01524 64637 for your free place. If you are unable to attend once you have booked please let us know so that someone else can fill your place as sessions can be over subscribed.

Children should be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Super Saturday!

All sessions are free and drop in unless otherwise stated.

Get more out of Saturdays at our regular family activity afternoons.

All Super Saturday activities are from 1.30pm to 3.30pm, unless otherwise stated.

Sessions are suitable for children aged 5-12 unless otherwise stated, though younger siblings can usually be accommodated. Children must be supervised by a responsible adult.

Happy New Year! : Traditions 
Saturday 5th January 1.30-3.30
Come and discover different New Year traditions through history and make a calendar using recycled materials. Bring along your left over Christmas wrapping paper and cards to use on your calendar if you like.
 
Egyptian Masks
Saturday 2nd February 1.30-3.30
Mark the opening of our new Egypt exhibition by joining this session. Come and have a go at making your own Egyptian Mask like those worn by mummified Pharaoh's.
 
 
  
Meet a Roman Soldier

See the past brought to life. Come and meet our Roman Soldier, discover how the Romans lived in Lancaster and have a go at dressing up like a Roman.
 
 
Printing with Found Objects

Make use of 'rubbish' and create your own masterpiece to take home. Have a go at printing with a range of objects found around the home.

Take a look at the work of local artist Terry Hird. See how he has shown the landscape through paint. Be inspired and create your own landscape using paint and collage.

Awesome Egypt! – February Half Term
Discover the Awesome world of Egypt! Visit the Egypt's Sands exhibition in the museum and have a go at our selection of themed crafts over February half term.

Build your very own Egyptian Pyramid and discover how these impressive structures were built.
 
 
*Mummy Mayhem

Visit by the Georgian 22nd Regiment of Foot

The Redcoats will be on guard at the City Museum, demonstrating their equipment and meeting the townspeople.
 
The 24th – 27th May is Lancaster Unlocked and this year we are going all Georgian.
